Full-Time Farmhand (Russellville, Ohio)
Ayers Valley Farm is hiring a full-time farmhand to join our regenerative, family-run farm committed to raising clean, ethically cared-for livestock and nourishing families with real food.
This role is hands-on, physical, and essential to daily farm operations. We’re looking for a self-motivated, reliable, intelligent person who takes ownership, works hard, and shows up with integrity. Hours are flexible and vary by season and farm needs.

Responsibilities
Shipping & Fulfillment (Mondays & Tuesdays Required)
- Assist with packing and shipping customer meat orders with high attention to detail
- Load and unload meat from cold storage
- Regularly lift 50+ lbs safely and efficiently
- Help ensure accuracy, cleanliness, and organization during all shipping operations
Livestock Care & Handling
- Move and manage chickens, cattle, and pigs as part of daily farm routines
- Feed chickens and assist with daily animal care tasks
- Practice humane, calm, and respectful handling of all livestock
- Support pasture-based systems and daily farm routines
Farm Operations & Equipment
- Operate farm equipment including tractors and other machinery
- Drive a non-CDL straight truck to pick up meat at cold storage
- Assist with general farm maintenance and manual labor as needed
Problem Solving & Property Maintenance
- Fix fence and troubleshoot issues independently
- Identify problems early and take initiative to solve them
- Maintain a clean, safe, and functional farm environment
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have a reliable vehicle and dependable transportation
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Confident around livestock and committed to humane animal care
- Able to lift 50+ lbs regularly
- Flexible schedule — hours vary by season and farm needs
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and personal accountability
- Ability to work independently and with a team

- Livestock are cared for calmly, safely, and consistently
- Orders are packed and shipped accurately and on time
- Farm operations run smoothly through reliable execution
- Equipment, fencing, and facilities are maintained proactively

Location
Russellville, Ohio (On-site, working farm environment)
Compensation
$40,000 – $60,000 base salary, depending on experience, skill level, and expertise.
Final compensation will be based on relevant background, farm experience, and demonstrated capability.
